Mr Dittborn has a proclivity for “connecting the unconnected.” He pins the silkscreens of appropriated pictures to panels and improvises various compositions before having them sewn into place. “I try to work with a very different theology of the images. They belong to popular culture or prison culture,” he says. “The connections make light, like a match.”
